What shipping service do you use?

All orders are shipped through the US Post Office.  We have found this method to be the most economical for our customers, and allow us to keep our shipping/handling rates as low as possible.

Occasionally a customer requests a private shipping service (FedEx or UPS).  However, the shipping fees are about double those of the post office.  If timing is the issue, click here for a better solution.

Can you e-mail the music to me?

We now offer email PDF as a service. You can add this to your order by clicking the red "PDF" envelope icon anywhere on the site. You only need to click it once.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Emails are not automated. I send them manually within 24 hours (usually less).

I just ordered via email, but haven't received the email yet.

Emails are not automated. I'm a one-person company and still have a day job. I send out orders on weekday evenings and weekends within 24 hours (usually less) of an order being placed.

I programmed my own web site and don't have the skills for automated downloads and emails. Maybe one of these days. :-)

Composers / Arrangers

Do you publish the works of other composers / arrangers?

Yes. We publish compositions and arrangements that would be of interest to our clientele.

How do I submit work for publication?
  1. Contact me with a brief description of the work (instrumentation, musical style, etc.)
  2. If requested, send an audio file of the work for review.  It can be e-mailed or burned to a CD and sent via "regular" mail.

Please understand that all reviewed works may not be published.

What is the process involved in publishing an original composition?

If the work is accepted, you will be contacted to proceed with publication.  The general process:

  1. Register with ASCAP  http://www.ascap.com/about/howjoin.asp. There is a one-time application fee of $35, but no further fees after you join.  You can apply on-line, though it takes about a month for the application to be processed.

  2. Sign a publishing contract.  Please note that you will continue to own your copyright on publication; I believe that composers should maintain control of their own work.  The contract describes the payment of royalties (a percentage of each copy sold).

  3. Send electronic files (Finale or Sibelius) to be used for printing.

What is the process involved in publishing an arrangement?

If the work is accepted, you will be contacted to proceed with publication.  The general process:

  1. If the work is copyrighted, then I will have to obtain a print license from the copyright holder / administrator.  Please note that pop and rock tunes fall into this category.  It often takes months to obtain a print license, assuming that one is granted.  Most pop arrangements are denied licensing (I speak from personal experience), though I am willing to make the inquiry.

  2. Sign a publishing contract.  This contract describes the work and your percentage of the cover price.

  3. Send electronic files (Finale or Sibelius) to be used for printing.
